Our renovation of a 200-year-old cottage in a Cambridgeshire Conservation Area.
This 18th century cottage, in the Conservation Area of a Cambridgeshire village, had been extended ad hoc over the past two hundred years when our clients reached out, knowing that a radical overhaul was needed.
In completing a substantial renovation of the cottage, a new two-storey rear extension was created to bring much needed space for a new family bathroom and en-suite onto the first floor, with a reconfigured master bedroom using an existing first floor extension.
A new green roof, with opening roof lights, is set at eye level when sitting in the first floor master bedroom, providing a green outlook that stretches to the fenland landscape beyond. The ground floor rear extension houses an open plan kitchen, dining and living space, opening onto a new courtyard garden.
