Pitch View is a full house renovation and two-storey extension of a 1960s house. It sits in a Conservation Area of Barnack, a small village on the border of Peterborough and Lincolnshire. Our design will ensure the creation of a home that retired couple, John and Sue, can enjoy, share and grow into. Bringing together rustic design elements and biodiversity, together with future-proofing.

The substantial transformation of the existing home will feature a mixture of brickwork, render and muted green metal. The geometry of each is designed to maximise the relationship between the house and its irregular site.

The kitchen will be the showstopper and hub of the home, with our design maximising the space and views onto the garden. From the master bedroom the view expands to encompass the surrounding landscape – including the local cricket pitch! Creating a beautiful connection between the outside world and home.

With close proximity to a well-loved National Nature Reserve – just over the road – and John and Sue’s penchant for recycling, gardening and enjoying nature; we’ve ensured the renovation and extension incorporates biodiversity, sustainability and respects the surroundings. We’ll seed the flat roofs with a wildflower garden to bring colour and life to the views of the upper floors.

To ensure that the house suits all stages of life, we have futureproofed our design. The dining room is capable of being converted easily into a downstairs bedroom – and a wet room is created off the utility room for ease and accessibility.
